| "Pastures of Plenty" by Wood Guthrie | ||
|---|---|---|
| Adapted for Lammas by Panorpheus and Morgan le Fay | ||
I am in the cornfields with the sun at noon, I sleep on the ground in the light of the moon, On the edge of the city you’ll see me and then, I’ll come with the dust and I’ll go with the wind. | ||
From east to west you harvest my crops, Well, it’s north to Oregon to gather my hops, Dig the beets from my ground, cut the grapes from my vine, To set on your table, my light sparkling wine. | ||
Green pastures of plenty from dry desert ground, From the Grand Rocky Mountains where the water runs down, My land I’ll feed with my life if it be, So my children will know... They will always be free. | ||
They call me The Green Man or John Barleycorn, The depth of my sacrifice may cause you to mourn, But the promise to follow me and give of yourself, Brings to the Earth, peace, love, joy and wealth. | ||
